This course is designed for high school and primary school leavers, with knowledge/practical skills in the electrical field.
Learners enrolled into the Electrical Fitter course are trained to install and maintain low and high voltage wiring, and to install distribution cabinets and electrical shock protection systems.
Wiring and installations electrical fitter course is a one year course, realized as partly theoretical, partly practical, with a slight emphasis on the practice.
Having successfully passed the course, the students receive installations and wiring electrical fitter vocational certificate, and can find employment in different companies, repair shops or do home repairs. Apart from this, they can start their own repair shops or companies, or start a business of electrical equipment retail.
The course emphasizes on developing practical skills that will enable them;
- Carry out domestic installation
- Repair basic domestic appliances correctly and safely
- Carry out the wiring of light industrial installations
- Carry out light industrial maintenance works
- Carry out fabrication works in their field of work
In addition to practical skills, Electrical Trade Theory is also incorporated for better understanding.
The course takes 1 year at the end of which the student will sit the National Examination for Grade 3. Successful candidates will be awarded the Grade 3 certificate.
